Planning with the Moon’s Cycles- Part 1
There are many ways to plan and manifest with the moon’s cycles. A few I use are: 1) setting intentions on the New Moon for things you want to manifest by the end of that 28-ish day moon cycle 2) setting intentions on the New Moon in a specific sign that are longer term and you don’t expect to realize until roughly a year later when you are approaching the New Moon in that same sign again and 3) setting different intentions each New Moon based on what area of your chart that New Moon may be activating. Of course, you can set longer term goals and intentions as well at any length that makes sense for you. As always, there is no one right way to do this, but rather lean into your own intuition as to what feels most natural for you.
I most often take longer term goals and then break up into small ones that I work with around the shorter moon cycles. I also always look at where that particular moon is activating in my chart. Once I set my intention, I use the next four phases of the moon to check in and adjust. More on how I do this in future posts.
Let’s look at an example of one of my intentions using the upcoming New Moon in Capricorn. This New Moon is a powerful one to set intentions with especially as it is not only the first New Moon of 2024, but it is also in the grounded earth sign of Capricorn, the archetype of the Crone. The Crone’s energy lends discipline, hard work, focus and wisdom to your plans and is especially helpful in designing strategies, setting boundaries and planning to take actions in alignment with your goals. With Capricorn’s practical energy at play consider what you might want to achieve in not only a year but maybe in five, ten or even longer to create your own legacy. If you are not ready to set big long term goals right now, don’t worry. Astrologically speaking the new year doesn’t start until the spring with Aries season, so sticking to smaller goals may work better for you now. Again, let your intuition guide you.
I have set a long term goal to grow my business this year. For this first New Moon, I want to set an intention in support of that goal based on what area of life this new moon is activating in my chart. To do this, I find Capricorn in my natal chart and then look at what house it is in. I have Capricorn in my 3rd house. The 3rd house represents areas of life including how I communicate, what I like to talk about and how I think and analyze. Using the Crone energy and applying it to these house themes, I am setting the intention to create a viable structure and schedule for my business communications and social media presence. We will look at how I use the next three cycles of the moon - waxing, full and waning - to support and manifest this intention in upcoming posts.
As you look to start setting an intention or intentions with this Capricorn New Moon, look at what area of life it activates in your chart.
